The Alkhayyat Foundation has recently donated food hampers to the Salvation Army Branch in Toronto to assist over 100 families.

The COVID-19 pandemic has put an unprecedented demand on Canada’s food banks and community food programs. Food insecurity is at an all-time high resulting in many Canadians accessing food bank supports during this time. Food banks, such as the Salvation Army Branch in Toronto, have seen a drop in their food stocks as well as a reduction in the number of volunteers.

The food hampers, donated to these families in Toronto, contain an adequate amount of food to support a family of five individuals for a period of one month.

“These are difficult times for Canadian families.  We must do what we can to support them.  The Alkhayyat Foundation’s mission is to improve the lives of Canadians and we are making this contribution to the Salvation Army Branch in Toronto to help the growing number of families in need.”
